Description:Through this initiative, the INFORM promoted environmentally preferable cleaning products and practices in an effort to reduce public exposure to toxic substances. The ultimate goal of this project is to stimulate manufacturers of hazardous cleaning chemicals to reformulate their products. The primary strategy to achieve this goal is to convince government agencies, businesses, and institutions (such as schools and hospitals) to revise their janitorial supplies and services contracts to favor the procurement of environmentally prefererable products that are readily available, performance-tested and cost effective.
