  • The Conservation Bureau of the Ontario Power Authority was established in 2005 by the Ontario government who recognized that conservation has to play an increasingly important role in assuring an adequate supply of electricity for the Ontario public, businesses and institutions. The role of the Conservation Bureau at the Ontario Power Authority is to develop, coordinate and stimulate commitment to electricity conservation and demand management programs. It is independent agency with a long-term focus under the direction of the Chief Energy Conservation Officer.

GLRPPR is a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange, a national network of regional information centers: NEWMOA (Northeast), WRRC (Southeast), GLRPPR (Great Lakes), ZeroWasteNet (Southwest), P2RIC (Plains), Peaks to Prairies (Mountain), WSPPN (Pacific Southwest), PPRC (Northwest).
