  • Initiated in 2001 by the Clean Air Foundation, Switch Out is the first program in Canada to address the use of mercury in vehicles and mercury-emissions from vehicle recycling. It represents a partnership of government, industry, and non-profit organizations with the common goal of implementing an effective, cost-efficient, and sustainable collection program to recover mercury from vehicles, and preventing it from being released into the environment.

GLRPPR is a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange, a national network of regional information centers: NEWMOA (Northeast), WRRC (Southeast), GLRPPR (Great Lakes), ZeroWasteNet (Southwest), P2RIC (Plains), Peaks to Prairies (Mountain), WSPPN (Pacific Southwest), PPRC (Northwest).
