  • The Illinois Valley Small Business Development Center is part of a statewide network of management assistance and training for those who own a business and for those who are seeking to start a business. It is sponsored by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs and the Small Business Administration (SBA). The Center has formed a partnership with Illinois Valley Community College for small business education and training. The Center is also active in the area Chambers of Commerce and is a member of the Upper Illinois River Valley Community Development Corporation. Since the Center is funded by the State of Illinois, the SBA and matching funds, our services are free to anyone who cannot afford the services of a private consultant. Our objectives for small businesses in the Illinois Valley area are to: Assist those who are contemplating starting or buying a business. Provide guidance and counseling to existing or potential businesses. Provide training to small business owners, their employees and the general public. Provide technical assistance in product development. Provide information and assistance in obtaining loans and capital information. Perform financial analysis, market analysis and forecasting. Assist businesses in working with the government and its various programs. Improve the economy through the development of viable small businesses. Promote small business related issues within the Illinois Valley.

GLRPPR is a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange, a national network of regional information centers: NEWMOA (Northeast), WRRC (Southeast), GLRPPR (Great Lakes), ZeroWasteNet (Southwest), P2RIC (Plains), Peaks to Prairies (Mountain), WSPPN (Pacific Southwest), PPRC (Northwest).
