Profile:

  • The Solid and Hazardous Waste Education Center’s (SHWEC) pollution prevention program mission is: to enhance Wisconsin’s environment and economy by providing quality education, information and technical assistance to promote the sustainable use of natural resources. SHWEC pollution prevention focuses on the elimination or reduction of pollution through Source Reduction, which is the design, manufacture, purchase, or use of materials to reduce the amount or toxicity of waste or emissions.

GLRPPR is a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange, a national network of regional information centers: NEWMOA (Northeast), WRRC (Southeast), GLRPPR (Great Lakes), ZeroWasteNet (Southwest), P2RIC (Plains), Peaks to Prairies (Mountain), WSPPN (Pacific Southwest), PPRC (Northwest).
