  • The mission of the Green Electronics Council (GEC) is to inspire and support the effective design, manufacture, use and recovery of electronic products to contribute to a healthy, fair and prosperous world. Through partnerships with the electronics industry and other interested stakeholders, GEC seeks to: (1)Implement market-driven systems to recognize and reward environmentally preferable electronic products; and (2) Build the capacity of individuals and organizations to design and manage the life cycle of electronic products to improve their environmental and social performance. GEC's Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) helps governmental and institutional purchasers select environmentally preferable laptop and desktop computers and monitors. At the same time it helps manufacturers promote environmentally preferable products. The Green Electronics Council is a program of the International Sustainable Development Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

GLRPPR is a member of the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange, a national network of regional information centers: NEWMOA (Northeast), WRRC (Southeast), GLRPPR (Great Lakes), ZeroWasteNet (Southwest), P2RIC (Plains), Peaks to Prairies (Mountain), WSPPN (Pacific Southwest), PPRC (Northwest).
