GLRPPR Sector Resource: Energy Star Monitor Power Management Tool

Title:
Energy Star Monitor Power Management Tool

Abstract:
Enabling power management on your computer monitors can save your organization money while saving energy. Free software available from the U.S. EPA automatically puts your monitors to rest when not in use. Monitor power management will not affect your computer or network performance, and your computer "wakes up" within seconds upon touching its mouse or keyboard. Software packages are available for the home office, small organizations (20-499 computers) and large organizations (500+ computers). Please note that the EZ Wizard and manual enablement (tools on the web site for implementing the software) will not work for computers running Windows NT 4.0 Workstation. Possible solutions to this problem are provided on the web site.
