GLRPPR Sector Resource: EnergySmart Schools

EnergySmart Schools

This U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network web site provides information on making school buildings and operations more energy efficient. This web site has recently been redesigned. Included on the site are resources to improve the energy efficiency of existing buildings or to design new buildings that are efficient; information on school bus emissions and alternative-fueled buses; and energy education resources to help teach students about energy efficiency. Also included are success stories, news, events, and information on EnergySmart Schools partnerships throughout the nation. The EnergySmart Schools program is part of Rebuild America, a DOE project that consists of hundreds of community-based partnerships across the nation geared toward saving energy, improving building performance, easing air pollution through reduced energy demand, and enhancing the quality of life through energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
