Title:
2012 Case Study: Mercy Regional Health Center

Abstract:
Having already invested in and implemented many simpler energy conservation projects, Mercy Regional Health Center decided to invest in some larger-scale projects in 2012. Intern Alex Van Dyke was hired to do project research on increased efficiencies in the laundry services and the main boilers. Other, smaller projects were also investigated including leak detection and further re-lamping. The suggested solutions for these projects was estimated to save 1,221,444 gallons of water, 71,285 kWh of electricity, 26,218 therms of heat, and 39.6 tons solid waste, which is equivalent to $31,166 of annual savings.
