Abstract:
Prepared by Carl Herbrandson of the Minnesota Department of Health under a cooperative agreement with the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, this report summarizes public health issues related to levels of mercury emitted from a fluorescent bulb recycling system considered for use at a Minnesota company. Based on the results of this health consultation, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) has banned the use of drum-top bulb crushers in Minnesota. (PDF Format; Length: 28 pages)
